One of the nicest-looking and most durable new roofs you can have installed are slate roofs. A slate roof can actually last for hundreds of years, though there are mitigating factors to consider, such as what type of slate is used, how the roof is configured and the climate in your area. They look fantastic on both homes and commercial structures. With a slew of grades, colors and textures available for this high-quality new roof material, you are sure to find one that you like.
Another type of new roof we can install for you is a metal roof. One of the biggest benefits of a metal roof is that they are made to prevent leaks at the seams, where the leaks are likeliest to occur: Each panel goes over and locks into place with the ones next to them, which makes the roof water tight and helps hold it in place. These types of roofs also resist fading, corrosion and rusting, and they come in a wide variety of colors and finishes. Plus, they are easy to maintain.
A type of new roof that is becoming more and more popular are tile roofs, which come in concrete or clay. Tile varieties include shake, single and slate, and they require little to no maintenance. And because they are fire resistant, offering a Class A fire rating, it can lower your insurance costs, increase your home’s or building’s resale value and protect everything under the roof. Plus, they tend to shed water more easily than other types of roofs, and they can be more energy efficient – saving you money on your energy bills.
A flat roof is another kind of new roof that we install. There are several types, including EPDM, TPO and built-up. EPDM has benefits that include resistance to ozone, heat and weather, as well as polar substances and steam. TPO roofs are very durable and can withstand building movements well, are resistant to fire and chemicals and can block ultraviolet rays. Built-up roofs are also durable, and the most common types are asphalt and coal tar.
But perhaps the most popular type of new roof are asphalt shingles – more than 12.5 billion square feet of them are made every year. They are known for their durability and are sunlight- and weather resistant, require very little maintenance, are reasonably priced and do well on steep-sloped roofs.
